The Tulipán Cultural Connection Award provides financial support to U.S.-based nonprofit organizations that want to use their proposed project to promote the richness of Hungarian culture.

Applicants must be U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in good standing with the IRS. They must also demonstrate a clear commitment to promoting Hungarian culture, heritage, or community engagement through their proposed project or show a strong interest in developing initiatives that celebrate and preserve Hungarian heritage in the U.S..

Please note that priority will be given to projects that actively engage the local Hungarian American community or broader U.S. audiences, creating opportunities for dialogue, learning, or collaboration. These projects should have a clear public-facing component, such as workshops, festivals, or public performances.


Grants typically range from $500 to $5,000, depending on the project’s scope and needs. Smaller grants may be awarded for individual events or short-term initiatives, while larger grants may fund more comprehensive projects.

Funding may be used for project-related expenses including program development, event production (e.g., venue rental, artist fees), educational initiatives (such as curriculum development or workshops), marketing and outreach (advertising and promotional materials), and other relevant costs like research, transportation, or speaker fees.


The Tulipán Cultural Connection Award is awarded on a semi-rolling basis with quarterly deadlines for application review.

The selection process follows the timeline below, starting with applications and concluding with the announcement of grantees.

Upon completion of the funded project, Grantees must submit a final report detailing how the grant funds were used and the impact of the project on the community. This report should include an evaluation of project outcomes, audience engagement, and any lessons learned.

Yes, organizations can apply for grant funding in future award cycles, but the same project cannot be funded more than once. New projects or significant expansions of previously funded projects are encouraged to apply.
