In collaboration with the Arany János Hungarian School and the Hungarian Scout Troops in New York, it is with great joy that the Tulipán Foundation invites you to our annual St. Nick’s Day Celebration at the Hungarian House in New York City on Saturday, December 7, 2024. As always, this beloved event will be filled with time-honored Hungarian traditions and heartwarming moments for the entire family.
Festivities will begin with a series of holiday crafts. Led by talented folk artists and teachers from Hungary, these hands-on workshops will allow guests to create their own holiday decorations inspired by our rich cultural heritage. From painting ornaments to weaving traditional straw decorations, making rag dolls to designing personalized leather keychains, there will be a flurry of activity for all to enjoy.
Of course, the highlight of the day will be a special visit from St. Nick himself. Children will have the chance to not only meet our jolly saint in person, but sit on his lap and receive a traditional Mikulás csomag—a red bag filled with sweet treats. In addition to this enchanting meeting, families will delight in the magic of Regölés and the singing festive songs to further immerse themselves in the joy of the season.
Registration will open in mid November, so mark your calendars and check back soon to secure your place for this festive celebration of Hungarian culture. We can’t wait to see you there and share in the joy of this special holiday tradition!
