Bernadett Pap, a master embroiderer and president of the Matyó Folk Art Association in Mezőkövesd, is passionate about preserving and evolving Matyó embroidery. Growing up in the Matyó community, she mastered this intricate art from an early age, learning its motifs, colors, and techniques.
Her dedication to research and preservation shines through her efforts to revive historical styles and modern interpretations, with an extensive collection showcasing nearly two centuries of Matyó embroidery.
Bernadett’s work has garnered numerous awards, including the prestigious Master of Folk Art Award in 2022. Her work has also been exhibited internationally in cities like Beijing, New York, and across Europe.
