Jenő Lisztes is an internationally renowned Hungarian musician, celebrated for his mastery of the cimbalom, a distinctive Hungarian instrument. Born in Budapest, he began playing at the age of four, with a natural talent deeply rooted in his family’s musical heritage.
A graduate of the Franz Liszt Academy, he has performed in prestigious venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall and the Vienna Musikverein. In November 2023, he took the stage at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall in New York, showcasing his artistry in a solo performance invited by the New York Philharmonic.
As a member of the world-renowned Roby Lakatos Ensemble, a leading group in Roma music, and the leader of his jazz trio, the Jenő Lisztes Cimbalom Project, he effortlessly blends classical music, jazz, and folk traditions. His performances have captivated audiences in prestigious venues across the globe, including a notable appearance at the BBC Proms in 2018 and performances at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris.
