Join us in celebrating the flavors of Hungarian Carnival with a hands-on doughnut-making workshop on Saturday, March 1st, hosted by the Tulipán Foundation. Led by renowned chef and cookbook author Sarah Copeland, this unforgettable culinary event will take place from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Chef’s Dinner Table in New York City.

Set in a cozy ambiance, the event will immerse children and adults alike will learn the art of creating Farsangi Fánk (Hungarian Carnival doughnuts) from scratch, providing a deliciously memorable experience for all ages. Alongside doughnut-making, attendees will enjoy an array of festive flavors to be found on traditional Hungarian snacking trays.

Sarah Copeland, your guide for the afternoon, is an acclaimed chef and former Food Director for Real Simple Magazine. Her celebrated recipes have been featured in The New York Times, Food & Wine, and Saveur. Married to Hungarian designer András Gipp, Sarah’s work beautifully bridges Hungarian and American culinary traditions, making her the perfect host for this festive culinary journey.

This workshop will also feature a curated Hungarian wine tasting led by Athena Bochanis of Palinkerie. This exclusive tasting will showcase a selection of wines perfectly paired with the festive treats, highlighting the rich winemaking traditions of Hungary.

In true Farsang spirit, the day will culminate with an unforgettable doughnut-eating contest—a guaranteed source of laughter and excitement as participants hilariously attempt to devour their doughnuts hands-free.
