The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is one of the world's leading museums dedicated to modern and contemporary art. Through exhibitions, research, and public programs, MoMA fosters new perspectives on the artists and ideas that have shaped modern visual culture.
As the recipient of the 2026 Tulipán Cultural Connection Award, MoMA will present a public program featuring Hungarian artist and poet Katalin Ladik. Centered on a live performance and conversation with Ana Janevski, Curator of Media and Performance, the program will introduce audiences to Ladik's pioneering work in sound poetry, performance, and experimental art while exploring her lasting influence on postwar Hungarian and Central European art.
The program will expand awareness of Hungarian experimental art through live performance, public dialogue, and a newly published interview with Ladik on post: notes on art in a global context. Together, these initiatives will make her work more accessible to international audiences while fostering a deeper understanding of Central and Eastern European artistic traditions.
