The Hungarian Folklife Association (HFA) is a Maryland-based nonprofit dedicated to preserving and sharing Hungarian folk traditions across North America. By supporting local communities and cultural organizations, HFA helps ensure that Hungarian folk dance and music continue to thrive for future generations.
As the recipient of the 2026 Tulipán Cultural Connection Award, HFA will expand its Folklife Ambassadors Program, bringing master folk dance instructors to communities across North America. Building on the program's success, the initiative will provide longer-term residencies that allow ambassadors to work more deeply with local organizations, helping establish youth ensembles, strengthen cultural traditions, and inspire the next generation of folk artists.
Through sustained community engagement, the program will build lasting connections among Hungarian cultural organizations while preserving authentic folk dance and music traditions across North America.
